Darren Grimes

Darren Grimes is a British conservative commentator and activist known for his involvement in political campaigns and his outspoken views on Brexit and free speech. Born in Consett, County Durham, England, Grimes grew up in a working-class background and has been vocal about how this shaped his political views.

Grimes first gained national attention during the 2016 Brexit referendum. He was the founder of BeLeave, a pro-Brexit youth campaign that advocated for the United Kingdom’s departure from the European Union. Following the referendum, he faced legal scrutiny when the Electoral Commission fined him for alleged overspending during the campaign. However, in 2018, the fine was overturned by the Central London County Court, which ruled in his favour.

After the Brexit campaign, Grimes continued to be an active figure in British politics and media. He has contributed to various right-leaning publications and has been a frequent presenter and commentator on GB News and other television and radio programs. Grimes is also known for his advocacy of free speech and his criticism of cancel culture.

In addition to his media presence, Grimes launched the podcast and YouTube channel “Reasoned” in 2020, where he discusses political issues, interviews guests, and promotes conservative viewpoints. His work has made him a prominent and sometimes controversial figure within the UK’s conservative movement.
